Monsoon fever is usually caused by a viral or bacterial infection that occurs during the rainy season. Influenza (flu), common cold viruses, jaundice or hepatitis and gastroenteritis occur during this season. Both dengue and common flu cause fever, body ache and fatigue. Apart from this, rashes also appear on the body. There are no specific symptoms of dengue.
Symptoms of dengue start appearing on the body only 1-2 days after the fever. These include severe stomach pain, persistent vomiting, bleeding gums or bleeding from the nose. Blood in stool or vomit can also be a symptom. There may be difficulty in breathing, fatigue and restlessness.
Dengue is caused by the bite of the Aedes mosquito. Symptoms include high fever up to 104 degrees Fahrenheit (40 degrees Celsius), severe headache that usually occurs behind the eyes and severe muscle and joint pain.
Pain in the upper abdomen along with nausea and a feeling of fullness. These could be early symptoms of dengue.
Early symptoms of dengue may include severe stomach pain, persistent vomiting, bleeding gums or nose, blood in stool or vomit, easy bruising, difficulty breathing, and extreme fatigue.
