Ranchi, July 06 (HS). Former minister Alamgir Alam, accused in the tender commission case, on Saturday sought permission from the PMLA court to attend the special session of the assembly. The hearing on this will be held on Monday.
On the other hand, a special session of the Jharkhand Assembly is also convened on July 8. Chief Minister Hemant Soren will prove his majority in this. Alamgir Alam has sought permission from the court to participate in the floor test. Permission to participate in the assembly session has been sought on his behalf by citing several orders of the High Court and the Supreme Court. Earlier, many including Chief Minister Hemant Soren, MLA Dullu Mahato and Nalin Soren have been given permission to prove majority on the floor of the Assembly. Chief Minister Hemant Soren had received permission from the PMLA court to prove the majority of the then Champai Soren government.
Alamgir Alam was arrested by the ED on May 15 after questioning in the tender scam. He is currently lodged in judicial custody in Birsa Munda Central Jail (jail).
