Punjab government records 42 per cent rise in revenue from land-property registries in June: GIMPA

Punjab News: The Punjab government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann has achieved yet another milestone. The land and property registrations in Punjab during June 2024 have generated a record 42 per cent more revenue in the Punjab government treasury. Finance Minister Bram Shankar Jimpa has said that providing transparent, clean and corruption-free services to the people of Punjab is the main goal of the government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann and due to this the state's income is constantly increasing.

Giving detailed information, Jimpa said that the Punjab government has earned an income of Rs 452.96 crore under stamp and registration in June 2024, which is 42 percent more than June 2023. This income was Rs 319.33 crore in June 2024.

Jimpa said that in May 2024 also, Rs 526.36 crore came into the government treasury whereas in May 2023 this amount was Rs 430.63 crore. This is an increase of 22 percent compared to last year.

He said that the state's income is constantly increasing and a large amount is coming into the government's treasury under stamp and registration. He said that from the very first day, the Punjab government is making meaningful efforts to make the functioning of the revenue department corruption free.

He said that after assuming power in the state, Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann had issued a helpline number for complaints against corrupt officers/employees, which is yielding fruitful results. He said that a number 8184900002 has also been issued to register complaints against the functioning of the Revenue Department. NRIs can register their complaints related to the Revenue Department on 9464100168. These numbers are only for written complaints.

He said that strict action will be taken against officers/employees harassing people and appealed that if any officer or employee is harassing people for doing legitimate work or people have any complaint regarding the work of the Revenue Department, they can feel free to lodge a complaint. Jimpa also appealed to the people of Punjab that bribe should not be given to any officer or employee for doing any work related to the Revenue Department and if anyone demands bribe then it should be reported immediately. He said that corrupt officers and employees will not be spared at any cost.
