Ranchi, 06 July (HS). Railway Protection Force (RPF) has arrested a person with liquor from Ranchi Railway Station. The name of the arrested accused is Shubham Kumar Singh. He is a resident of Bhojpur, Bihar.
ASI Shakti Singh said on Saturday that on the instructions of Ranchi division's divisional security commissioner Pawan Kumar, a campaign against drug paraphernalia is going on continuously in trains and railway stations. In this sequence, Kunal Pathak, the on-duty escort party of train number 18624 CT, reported that a person in coach number S-1 was behaving suspiciously.
After the information, eight bottles of liquor were recovered on checking the coach. During interrogation, the accused admitted to buying liquor from Ranchi to sell it at a higher price in Bihar. He was handed over to the excise department for further legal action. The market value of the seized liquor bottles has been estimated at Rs 5,920.
