Jaipur, July 5 (HS). Due to active monsoon in the state, heavy rains occurred in 20 cities including Jaipur on Friday. Due to torrential rains, flood-like situation has arisen in Karauli and Tonk. Railway lines, markets and colonies were flooded with several feet of water. About a dozen kutcha houses collapsed in Tonk. The district administration has started rescue and relief work. According to the Water Resources Department, the highest rainfall of 144 mm was recorded in Malpura of Tonk on Friday. Apart from this, 122 mm rain was recorded in Aligarh of Tonk, 122 mm in Uniara, 126 mm in Kekri Todarai Singh, 117 mm in Mahavir Ji of Karauli, 114 mm in Karauli, 83 mm in Chauth Ke Barwara of Sawai Madhopur, 80 mm in Hindauli of Bundi, 79 mm in Nainwa and 79 mm in Shahbad of Baran.
According to the Meteorological Department, moderate to heavy rain was recorded in Pratapgarh, Jhalawar, Bhilwara, Jaipur, Sikar, Kota, Chittorgarh, Dabok, Bikaner, Dholpur, Tonk, Baran, Dungarpur, Sangaria, Jalore, Sirohi, Fatehpur, Karauli and Mount Abu. Phalodi was the hottest city in the state. The maximum temperature here was recorded at 40.8 degrees and the minimum temperature was 31.4 degrees. Apart from Phalodi, the mercury of Bikaner also crossed 40. Along with Phalodi, the night temperature of Jodhpur and Barmer was recorded above 30.
Director of Meteorological Centre, Radheshyam Sharma said that the circulation system is formed over south-western Uttar Pradesh and adjoining eastern Rajasthan and is extended up to 5.4 km from the surface. The monsoon trough line is passing through Bikaner, Sikar. On Friday, monsoon remained active in most parts of eastern Rajasthan and rain occurred in many parts of Jaipur, Ajmer, Kota, Bharatpur, Udaipur divisions and very heavy rain was recorded at some places. Very heavy rain was recorded at one or two places in Tonk and adjoining districts.
Heavy rain will continue today as well
Rain activities will continue in some parts of eastern Rajasthan on 6th July and heavy rain is likely at some places. Heavy rain activities are likely to decrease on 7-8th July and rain is likely to be recorded in some parts of north-eastern Rajasthan. After this, rain activities are likely to increase again in eastern Rajasthan from 9-10th July. There is a possibility of rain with thunder and storm in Bikaner division of western Rajasthan for the next 2-3 days after noon. There is a possibility of rain at some places in eastern and northern parts of Jodhpur division.
18 mm rain fell in Jaipur in one hour, water filled on the roads
There was heavy rain in Jaipur on Friday. Due to this, the roads were flooded, due to which the drivers had to face trouble. There was light rain in Jaipur early in the morning. After this, heavy rain started again in the afternoon. Heavy rain continued for about an hour. 18 mm of rain was recorded in Jaipur. 43 mm of rain was recorded in Madhorajpura of Jaipur.
141 mm rain on Bisalpur dam, 40 cm water came in one day
On Friday, 141 mm of rain was recorded in the Bisalpur dam catchment area. Due to this, water inflow has started in Bisalpur dam. 40 cm of water entered the dam in one day. The water level of Bisalpur dam has risen to 310.08 RL meter. In the morning, the water level of Bisalpur dam was 309.69 RL meter. However, inflow of water has not started in Triveni river. Drinking water is supplied to Jaipur, Tonk, Ajmer and some other districts from Bisalpur dam. Due to this, the water level of the dam used to decrease by one centimeter daily. The rain continued till late night in the catchment area of the dam.
