Ranchi, July 05 (HS). The PMLA court has extended the judicial custody period of seven accused, including former Deputy Commissioner of Ranchi Chhavi Ranjan, in the money laundering case related to the sale of one acre of land on Cheshire Home Road, for two weeks. Earlier, the accused lodged in jail were produced on Friday through video conferencing.
The court has fixed July 19 as the next date of hearing. At present, the case is pending for hearing on the point of framing of charges. Police papers have been handed over to the accused. In this case, former Deputy Commissioner of Ranchi Chhavi Ranjan, Prem Prakash, Bharat Prasad, Rajesh Rai, Imtiaz Ahmed, Afsar Ali and Mohd Saddam are in judicial custody. While businessman Vishnu Agarwal has got bail from the High Court. At the same time, one accused Puneet Bhargava is absconding.
