National Commission for Women launched the fifth phase of Digital Shakti Abhiyan

New Delhi, July 5 (HS). The National Commission for Women and CyberPeace Foundation on Friday launched the fifth phase of the Digital Shakti Abhiyan to empower 10 lakh women.

The aim of this initiative is to digitally empower and skill women and girls in cyberspace. To ensure a safe online space for them. Minister of State for Defence Sanjay Seth, Minister of State for Panchayati Raj SP Singh Baghel, National Commission for Women Chairperson Rekha Sharma, Member Secretary National Commission for Women Meenakshi Negi, President of CyberPeace Foundation Major Vineet Kumar attended the program organized at Vigyan Bhawan.

On this occasion, Rekha Sharma said that this program is in line with Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision of Digital India. Despite being the third largest power in the world, women have to face struggle in every field. Digital Shakti was started in 2018 with a view to introduce women to the digital age to enhance their skills. So far, the Commission has trained 6 lakh women to stay safe in the digital world. In this, the Commission's target in the fifth phase is to train 10 lakh women.

Minister of State for Defence Sanjay Seth said that this initiative is commendable in view of the increasing cyber crime against women in the last two decades. This is an important issue which has been thoughtfully addressed by NCW and CyberPeace with the Digital Shakti programme.
