BJP's damage control: In the results of the Lok Sabha elections 2024, the performance of the BJP has been much worse than expected in many states. This includes states like UP to Haryana, Rajasthan and West Bengal. Now after the setback in the elections, the BJP has started damage control. The party has held review meetings in many states. The workers have protested fiercely against the MPs and MLAs. Apart from this, the workers have also expressed displeasure over the way the organization is functioning and the distribution of tickets. In such a situation, the BJP is considering all these issues.
According to the information received, giving more preference to the leaders who came from other parties in the review meeting of BJP and the displeasure of the original cadre are also the main reasons. In such a situation, there are chances of big changes within the party soon. Let us tell you that this time BJP has lost 63 seats and the party needs alliance partners to get a majority.
Uttar Pradesh suffered the most damage
BJP suffered the biggest loss in UP where the party's vote percentage fell from 49.98 percent to 41.37 percent. In the review meeting on BJP's defeat in UP, party leaders pointed out the shortcomings from the state to the center. Not only this, the leaders stressed on taking immediate decisions on all the issues responsible for the loss.
Regarding the electoral defeat, the UP leaders said that if these issues are not resolved now, the party's position in UP may worsen in the 2027 assembly elections. The leaders demand that leaders coming from other parties should be given priority but our leaders should not be ignored. It is also worth noting that out of the 11 leaders from UP quota who have been given ministerial posts in the Modi government, only three are from the original cadre.
Big challenge in these states too
Sources also say that now there can be laxity among the workers. In such a situation, the party can work to remove the flaws quickly, if this does not happen then the 2027 assembly elections can be very difficult. Like UP, the review report in Haryana, Maharashtra and Rajasthan has also not been good for the BJP. The party has had to bear the brunt of not being able to properly resolve various incidents in the Northeast. Not worrying about the workers suffering from TMC in West Bengal has also proved to be a setback for the BJP.
There is a possibility that after the reports of all the states are out, the party can make big changes from the organization to the state government. Many ministers may also have to resign.
