Jammu, July 4 (HS). The National Cadet Corps, Boys Cadets of GGM Science College, Jammu conducted a cleanliness drive with the aim of raising awareness about cleanliness and improving the hygiene of the college campus and its surrounding areas. The initiative is part of a wider campaign to inculcate the importance of cleanliness and community responsibility among students and residents.
The drive was inaugurated by the college principal Dr Romesh Kumar Gupta. He emphasised on the role of students in social transformation and the importance of maintaining a clean environment. Thereafter, NCC cadets equipped with cleaning equipment and protective gear started the drive to clean the college campus and surrounding areas. Throughout the day, the cadets participated in various activities, including garbage collection, awareness drives and community outreach. The drive saw enthusiastic participation from students, teachers and local residents.
ANO Lt Dr Devinder Kumar Sharma said, “Our cadets have shown exemplary leadership and commitment to cleanliness. Their efforts have made a tangible difference and we hope this drive will inspire others to take up similar initiatives.” This cleanliness drive is part of a series of initiatives planned by the NCC unit of GGM Science College, Jammu to contribute to the nationwide Swachh Bharat Abhiyan (Clean India Mission). The cadets are committed to continue their efforts and make a positive impact on the environment and society.
