Jind, July 4 (HS). On Thursday, the Contracted Electricity Employees Union Haryana affiliated to the Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh demonstrated at the Mini Secretariat. A memorandum regarding their demands was submitted to the Chief Minister through the Superintendent Engineer and Deputy Commissioner. The demonstration was led by District President Lokesh Bhyan and the stage was managed by District Secretary Mahendra Sharma.
State Secretary Subhash Sharma, District Minister Vinod Sharma, Rajguru Vashishth addressed the contracted electricity employees before the demonstration and said that today the entire burden of the electricity department is on the shoulders of the contracted employees. Dozens of contracted employees have lost their lives while working so that the electricity service runs smoothly in the state even during floods, corona period, scorching heat, winter. Hundreds of employees have suffered limb loss. The contracted employees who work by risking their lives get very little salary and nominal facilities from the government and the department. Due to which there is a lot of anger in the organization.
He said that the main demand of the organization is that a regular policy should be made by the government, which should include all the employees of the electricity department. Along with this, apart from cashless medical policy, risk allowance, gratuity, LTC and bonus, the employees working in Kheda, Munanagar Thermal, regarding whom the agreement which was made with the management on 12 June 2023, and other demands are included. On this occasion, many employee leaders including Moti Mor, Rajguru Vashishtha, Shailendra Naidu, Yogesh Sharma, Billu Dahiya, Sagar, Rakesh Malik, Jitendra Bhardwaj, Monu Sharma, Pawan Dhiman were present.
