Dhanbad, 03 July (HS). Dhanbad Railway Division has once again become the highest earning railway division in the country by doing record freight transport. In the first quarter (April to June) of the financial year 2024-25, a record 48.71 million tonnes of freight has been transported, which is 5.82 percent more than the 46.38 million tonnes of freight carried in the same period of the previous financial year. Due to which Dhanbad Railway Division has received an initial income of Rs 6777.31 crore.
In this regard, DRM of Dhanbad Railway Division Kamal Kishore Sinha said on Wednesday that the income is 4.86 percent higher than the same period of last financial year. With this record, Dhanbad stood first in the entire Indian Railways in loading and income. He said that during this period, the average transportation of coal in Dhanbad Railway Division was 131.38 rakes per day.
With this, East Central Railway (ECR) stood fourth among regional railways by loading 51.61 million tonnes of goods in the first quarter of 2024-25. 37 rakes of wheat and 317 rakes of maize were loaded in the first quarter of this financial year. Which is 109 percent more than the same period last year.
