Saharsa, July 03 (HS). A special group of pilgrims left for Amarnath Yatra from the district on Wednesday by Vaishali Express train. The pilgrims were Mani Kumar Jha, Bhushan Kumar Singh, Rahul Raj, Jai Kumar, Ritesh Kumar, Saurav Banka and others. To send off all these pilgrims, Karamveer Singh, Vishnudev Jha, Prince Chaudhary, Uma Shankar Chaudhary etc. sent them off from the station at the junction.
According to the Puranas, it is said that one attains immortality and salvation by visiting Baba Amarnath. Also, one attains ten times more virtue by visiting and worshipping Shivalinga in Kashi and a thousand times more virtue by visiting Naimisharanya Tirtha. It is said that there is Shri Ram Kund on the mountain above the Amarnath cave. The Shaktipeeth located in the Amarnath cave is one of the 51 Shaktipeeths.
According to religious and mythological beliefs, the Amarnath cave is the place where Bholenath told Parvati the secret of becoming immortal. The specialty of Amarnath is that a Shivling is formed automatically from snow in the holy cave. Due to being formed from natural snow, it is also called “Himani Shivling” or “Barfani Baba”. It should be known that this Amarnath Yatra continues for two months, the Ashadh and Sawan months.
On this occasion, lakhs of pilgrims from India and abroad join the Amarnath Yatra and offer prayers. Seeing the increasing crowd of pilgrims, registration is done after conducting a health check-up. The government has made strong arrangements through the army for the safety of the pilgrims.
