Smart Meters: Seeing the chaos created during the installation of new electricity meters, the electricity department has now issued strict orders. No matter who opposes it, the employees of the electricity department will have to install these new electricity meters under any circumstances. Powercom has set a deadline for this.
Now electricity meters will have to be installed in new houses and shops in Jalandhar city within 3 days. Whereas in rural areas this time limit has been reduced to 15 days. This notification has been issued by Powercom.
In the notification issued by PSPCL, it has been said that as soon as the consumer submits the application, supply to the house and shop should be started within three days. These orders have been issued for Jalandhar as well as Ludhiana and Amritsar.
In other districts and towns and markets falling under municipal corporation limits, meters can be installed within 7 days, while in rural areas, meters can be installed within 15 days.
