Ratan Tata saved the jobs of 115 employees by paying them money even after layoffs

This is the case of Tata Institute of Social Sciences, where 115 employees were fired on 28 June. After this, on Sunday 30 June, it was said that the layoffs of these employees have been stopped for the time being. There were 55 faculty members and 60 non-teaching staff in this. The announcement to stop the layoffs was made after the decision to increase the financial grant by the Tata Education Trust (TET) led by Ratan Tata.

115 employees' jobs were saved

The trust released new funds for projects, programs and salaries and other expenses of non-teaching staff, saving the jobs of 115 employees. Earlier, the Tata Institute of Social Sciences had decided to lay off employees due to lack of sufficient funds for salaries. The organization said that it has been facing a shortage of funds for the last 6 months and is now finding it difficult to pay salaries on time.

The institute has been running for 88 years
Sir Dorabji Tata Graduate School of Social Work was established in the year 1936. In the year 1944, its name was changed to Tata Institute of Social Sciences. This institute got the status of Deemed University in the year 1964. This institute has earned its name worldwide in the field of human rights, social justice and development studies.
