After incidents of paper leak in exams like NEET-UG and UGC-NET, now irregularities have come to light in the Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission-Judiciary (UPPCS-J) exam as well.
The answer sheets of not one or two but 50 candidates have been allegedly changed in the UPPCS-J exam held in 2022. After the revelations in the investigation after a candidate filed a petition in the Allahabad High Court in the matter, the UPPCS held five officials guilty and suspended three of them. According to the order of UPPCS Chairman Sanjay Srinath, Section Officer Shivshankar, Review Officer Neelam Shukla and Assistant Review Officer Bhagwatidevi have been suspended and departmental action has been taken against the supervising officer Deputy Secretary. Retired Assistant Review Officer Chandrakala has also been found guilty and permission has been sought from the state government for action against her under Rule 351-A. Petitioner Shravan Pandey said in the petition filed in the High Court that the letter written in the answer sheet is not his. The High Court's investigation into the allegations of tampering with the answer sheets revealed that two bundles of 25-25 copies each had been tampered with.
Answer sheets were also changed in PCS-2015
In the 2015 PCS exam, the answer sheet of a candidate named Suhasini Bajpai was changed, which was revealed when the answer sheet was viewed under the RTI Act. Later, she was cleared in the main interview exam. However, she failed in the interview and was not selected. According to UPPCS sources, even then it happened due to wrong coding.
