Gwalior: Two BSF women constables missing for 26 days

Gwalior, 2 July (HS). Two women constables of Border Security Force (BSF) have been missing from Gwalior's Tekanpur cantonment for 26 days. They were last seen on 6 June 2024. Missing female constable Akanksha Nikhar is from Jabalpur while Shahana Khatoon is from Murshidabad in West Bengal. BSF has also registered their missing report in Billua police station.

According to the information, Akanksha and Shahana are posted as trainers in the BSF Assistant Training Center since 2021. Shahana's family has also registered a missing person report in Murshidabad police station. At the same time, Akanksha's mother pleaded before the SP in the police public hearing on Tuesday.

Urmila Nikhar, a resident of Jogi Mohalla in Jabalpur, said that Akanksha had said last year that Shahana Khatoon, a resident of Murshidabad in West Bengal, is in her batch. Both of them are good friends. Shahana also came to our house in Jabalpur in March 2024. She stayed here for four days. After this, both of them left saying that they were going to Bengal for a trip. There both of them stayed at Shahana's house. After this, contact with the daughter started decreasing. Akanksha did not talk as heartily as she used to earlier.

Urmila told that she had talked to her daughter Akanksha on 5th June. She was talking in a disinterested manner. On 6th June at 8 pm, she received a call from the Assistant Training Center that Akanksha and Shahana had gone somewhere since morning. Their missing report has been filed in Bilua police station.

The last location was found in Baharampur, West Bengal

Urmila told that BSF officers told that their location was found in Delhi on 6th June. After this, it was found in Howrah, West Bengal on 7th June. On the same day, at 11:30 pm, their location was found in Baharampur, Murshidabad. Shahana also talked to her elder sister and mother at 12:03 am from an auto driver's phone. After this, both of them reached Beacon Hospital. Both of them are seen in the CCTV camera here. From the hospital, both of them sat in a car and went somewhere. After this, their mobiles are continuously switched off.

Urmila Nikhar says that she had gone to West Bengal in search of her daughter. She reached Shahana's house here. Her family did not tell her anything. They did not give any information about the daughters. My daughter's life is in danger.

Gwalior CSP (University Circle) Hina Khan said that the woman constable's mother had come from Tekanpur. She said that her daughter had gone somewhere with another woman constable. 26 days have passed. A missing person report was filed in Bilua police station but no investigation was done. The police have not even gone to the place where the last location was found. Instructions have been given to investigate the matter.
