Jammu, July 2 (HS). Reasi Deputy Commissioner Vishesh Mahajan chaired a meeting to review the preparations for the Kaunsar Nag Yatra to be held from August 7 to August 10, 2024. The meeting focused on ensuring uninterrupted arrangements for security, medical care, transportation, electricity and water supply for the convenience of devotees. The Chairman of the Kaunsar Nag Yatra Management Committee shared suggestions with the Deputy Commissioner about the facilities and challenges faced during the last year's Yatra.
The Deputy Commissioner asked SDM Mahore and BDO Mahore to ensure all necessary preparations. XEN Jal Shakti Dharmari was assigned the task of ensuring uninterrupted water supply at designated places during the Yatra, while XEN PDD Reasi was directed to ensure reliable power supply. It was decided in the meeting that robust medical facilities would be established. A dedicated team of doctors, equipped with adequate stock of medicines and oxygen cylinders, would be deployed at designated places to cater to the needs of the pilgrims. Additionally, medical teams would accompany the Yatra to provide continuous assistance.
The Deputy Commissioner also stressed on the need for proper registration and medical examination of all the yatris, Tehsildar Reasi was appointed as the registration officer. He said that Pithuwala and Ponywala will also undergo registration. The Deputy Commissioner assured that the district administration will take all possible measures to ensure the success of the Yatra, making it a safe and pleasant experience for all the participants. SSP, Mohita Sharma provided an overview of the safety measures planned to ensure smooth and safe Yatra.
The meeting concluded with the assurance of all officers to work collaboratively to facilitate successful and peaceful Kounsar Nag Yatra 2024. The meeting was attended by Commandant CRPF 126 BN Bidda Nisar Mohammad, ADC Kulbhushan Khajuria, ACR Anshumali Sharma, ACD Pradeep Kumar, ARTO, Tehsildar Reasi, DIO and Kounsar Nag Yatra Management Committee members Yog Raj Mengi, Takan Das. Vinod Sharma Commanding Officer 33 RR Budhal, Commanding Officer 58 RR Mahor, SDM Mahor and SDPO Mahor joined the meeting virtually.
