Amritpal Singh oath ceremony: The Honorable Government of Punjab has sent an application to Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla to grant parole to Bhai Amritpal Singh to take oath as Member of Parliament from Khadoor Sahib. Amritpal Singh is currently lodged in Dibrugarh Jail in Assam along with his 9 companions under NSA.

Rajdev Singh Khalsa, former MP and spokesperson of Amritpal Singh, said the application for granting parole was sent to the district magistrate of Amritsar as a case under the National Security Act was registered in Amritsar.

Rajdev Singh Khalsa said that the DM forwarded the application to the Punjab Home Secretary, who forwarded it to the Lok Sabha Speaker. He said that an elected member of Parliament has 60 days to take oath. It is also learnt that the Lok Sabha Speaker has not taken any action on the application.

Actually, an application for parole was sent by the family to DC Amritsar. Taking action on this, the Punjab government has sent the application to the Lok Sabha Speaker.

After this, Amritpal Singh's family has sought time to meet the Lok Sabha Speaker. After receiving a request from the Punjab government, they sought time from the Speaker yesterday.
