FSSI's new rules on the sale of protein powder.. Decision to curb adulteration

New rules for protein powders in India: Protein is very important for the body. Especially those who go to the gym and work hard.. along with various types of food items, some also resort to protein supplements to provide protein to the body. But FSSAI (Food Safety and Standards Authority of India) has found that the use of protein supplements is causing fatal problems.. adulterated protein is being sold as supplements. In this context, there is a demand to impose strict rules on their use.

Apart from fitness freaks, doctors are also advising to consume protein. Athletes also use it a lot. In this background, the popularity of protein has increased. Some people are adulterating protein to capitalize on it. It is said that these contain harmful substances for the body. The FSSAI official said that there are a lot of protein products in the market, which have more health problems than benefits. That is why consumers want to be careful and health conscious.

Protein contains mercury.

Studies have shown that the protein supplements currently sold in the market contain the presence of heavy metals such as mercury and lead. These accumulate in the body and cause significant health problems over time. In addition, bacteria and microorganisms were found to be present. If these accumulate in the body, their risk increases further. It is said that they cause allergic problems. This can lead to problems like stomach problems, vomiting, diarrhea, stomach pain, bloating and gas.

Changes in provision

FSSAI will find a solution to this problem with new regulations to reduce this problem. The study found that the ingredients on the label did not have the same amount of protein. Officials said they are also mistyping. It is planned that the product will be tested for heavy metals and microbes. It also ensures that there are no mistakes in labeling. Protein content, ingredients, allergens, recommended dosage should be listed on the label.
