Ranchi, July 2 (HS). The final hearing on the criminal appeal of Lakhan Verma and Rahul Verma, the convicts in the Dhanbad judge Uttam Anand murder case, will be held in the Jharkhand High Court after four weeks. The petition of both the convicts was heard on Tuesday in a double bench of High Court Justice Ambuj Nath and Justice Ratnakar Bhengra.
During the hearing, advocate Sabyasachi argued on behalf of the petitioner. On July 22, the Special Court of Dhanbad CBI sentenced auto driver Lakhan Verma and his associate Rahul to life imprisonment in the murder case of Dhanbad District and Sessions Judge First Uttam Anand. The CBI court has also imposed a fine of Rs 25,000 each on both of them. This order of the CBI court has been challenged in the High Court.
