Jammu, July 2 (HS). Deputy Commissioner Poonch Yasin M. Choudhary made a day-long comprehensive visit to Surankote sub-division. The Deputy Commissioner was accompanied by SDM Surankote Farooq Khan, BRO Officer O.P. Sharma, Executive Engineer PMGSY Imtiyaz Mir, Executive Engineer R&B Shaukat Choudhary and other concerned officers and employees.
The Deputy Commissioner inspected the road from Surankot to Buffliaz and interacted with the local residents and heard their grievances. He ensured resolution of the genuine issues on the spot and directed the SDM, Collector Defence Rajouri-Poonch, BRO officials and contractor to expedite the work and meet the demands of the public.
The Deputy Commissioner also visited Mandi Phagla PMGSY road in Fazalabad, where a portion of the bridge was damaged due to heavy rains three days ago, causing traffic disruption. He directed the PMGSY department to complete the repair work within three days. Besides, he inspected the ongoing construction of another bridge near Buffliaz Road and directed the officials to ensure quality of work.
Besides, the Deputy Commissioner visited various projects being executed by the Rural Development Department and directed the R&B Department to complete blacktopping and macadamization of 1.2 km road connecting Surankot and Buffliaz with Mandi Phagla PMGSY road within a week. During the visit several delegations met the Deputy Commissioner and placed various demands, which he assured to be resolved in the near future.
