Dhanbad, 02 July (HS). Deputy Commissioner cum District Magistrate Madhavi Mishra inspected Shaheed Nirmal Mahato Medical College and Hospital (SNMMCH) on Tuesday. During this, ADM Law and Order Hema Prasad and SDM Uday Rajak were present.
One by one he inspected various departments and centres including OPD, outdoor department, pediatric department, physiotherapy department, surgery department, X-ray room, ultrasound centre, general ward, emergency ward ICU, gynecology and obstetrics department in-charge, medicine store room, registration counter.
The Deputy Commissioner reviewed the situation from SNMMCH's Principal cum Superintendent Dr. Jyoti Ranjan, department head and senior doctors. Expressing displeasure over the cleanliness arrangements in the hospital, the Deputy Commissioner directed the working outsourcing agency that if such poor arrangements are seen in future, then correspondence will be made to the department for taking action against the company. He also said that for special inspection of cleanliness work, a senior officer will be appointed from the district who will continuously monitor the cleanliness work.
During the inspection, many deficiencies were found, which the superintendent and the concerned department head have been directed to remove. The Deputy Commissioner said that there are some deficiencies which are related to infrastructure and some deficiencies are related to manpower, for which Superintendent Dr. Jyoti Ranjan has been directed to correct the things that need to be corrected at the hospital level.
He said that the most important task is to make optimum use of the available funds and manpower, which the doctors and management need to do. He also said that the private ambulances that park their vehicles in the hospital premises arbitrarily should be removed, if they do not agree, inform the DTO, their registration will be cancelled.
While giving instructions to the Superintendent, the Deputy Commissioner said that it is our priority to provide the best possible facilities to all the patients who come to the hospital, keeping this in mind, proper treatment, beds, tests, medicines etc. should be provided to the patients with the availability of existing resources.
Also ensure that the doctor arrives on time as per the time allotted to him. Apart from this, necessary guidelines were given on repair of faulty machines, especially X-ray machines, appointment of radiologists, maintenance of OPD registers, security arrangements, ambulance arrangements, availability of claims, availability of vaccines, availability of stretchers and other points.
