Bobby Pawar accuses education department of corruption, warns officials

Dehradun, July 02 (HS). Bobby Panwar, president of Uttarakhand Berojgar Sangh and candidate from Tehri Lok Sabha constituency, has accused the education department and education minister Dhan Singh Rawat of corruption. Bobby Panwar also mentioned the corruption charges against secondary education director Mahavir Bisht and the reprimand given to the education director by the High Court after his PIL in the High Court.

While talking to media at Uttarakhand Press Club on Tuesday, Bobby Panwar said that even after 3-4 charges of corruption were proved against Mahavir Bisht while he was Additional Director and despite informing Education Secretary Ravinath Raman, he was promoted as Director of Secondary Education. He said that some top officials of the Education Department are working as extortion agents. The future of educated youth here is being sold by calling an outside company Alankit Limited to fill 955 posts of BRP and CRP.

Panwar said that the external company Alankit Limited selected by the Education Department to fill 955 posts of BRC and CRP does not even fulfil the standards while another local company of Uttarakhand which fulfils the standards was excluded. When the matter was taken to the High Court, the double bench of the High Court also declared the selection as wrong. Despite this, the Education Department, with the consent of the departmental minister and the Chief Minister, by collecting crores of rupees from external companies, the responsibility of filling 955 posts of BRC and CRP in the Education Department has been given to a non-standard company.

Bobby Panwar said that the company which is not fulfilling the standards itself is demanding many types of certificates from educated youth. Apart from this, a company which is itself involved in corruption can never be expected to select youth in a transparent manner. He also advised the corrupt officials of the state to mend their ways and said that if the corrupt officials continue on their old ways, then the fight which was being fought till now in a democratic way will be changed and the corrupt officials will be answered in their own language.

Bobby Panwar opposed the appointments made through outsourcing agency and said that if forced appointments are being made under ad-hoc arrangement, then such system should be made completely transparent.

During this time, Uttarakhand Unemployed Association's Vice President Ram Kandwal, Co-convenor Sushil Kaintura, Patron Yashpal Rawat, Jaspal Chauhan etc. were present.
