Suspicious people seen in Dinanagar: On Sunday night, a woman saw the movement of two suspicious people in Guru Nanak Nagar Colony adjacent to the railway station in Dinanagar, after which the Punjab Police has become alert. After receiving information about the suspects, Punjab Police, Commando Force and Railway Police have searched the entire area.
However, no clue has been found so far. After receiving the information, SP Balwinder Singh D and DSP Head Quarter Sukhraj Singh reached the spot with the police force and also conducted a search operation around the railway station. On Monday, the Railway Police, under the leadership of Gurdaspur outpost in-charge Bhupinder Singh and Dinanagar outpost in-charge Vijay Kumar, searched the railway track and surrounding areas.
Meanwhile, checking of people passing through the railway station and railway track was also done. He instructed the labourers engaged in construction work going on around the railway station not to allow any suspicious person to sit near them and if any suspicious person is seen, then immediately inform the railway police.
Dinanagar has been attacked by terrorists before
On the morning of 27 July 2015, three armed attackers set a bus on fire in Gurdaspur district and then attacked the Dina Nagar police station. At least 9 people were killed and 4 injured in this attack. All three terrorists were killed.
On 7 July 2015, at around 5 am, four armed assailants attacked a Punjab Roadways bus in Dinanagar town of Gurdaspur district. Along with this, according to the IB, five bombs were planted near Dinanagar on the Gurdaspur-Pathankot railway line.
