RSS On Rahul Gandhi: Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) has responded to the statement of Congress leader Rahul Gandhi in Parliament. RSS said that the statement of the Congress leader linking Hindutva with violence is unfortunate.
Reacting to the comments of former Congress president Rahul Gandhi, senior RSS functionary Sunil Ambekar said, “It is unfortunate that people in important positions are linking Hindutva with violence.”
He said whether it is (Swami) Vivekananda's Hinduism or (Mahatma) Gandhi's, it is a symbol of harmony and brotherhood. Ambedkar is the head of the RSS's Akhil Bharatiya Prachar Vibhaag.
What did Rahul Gandhi say?
Rahul Gandhi launched a scathing attack on the BJP in the Lok Sabha and said that BJP leaders are not Hindus because they are engaged in 'violence and hatred' 24 hours a day. His comment was strongly opposed by the ruling party. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has accused the Congress leader of calling the entire Hindu community violent.
However, Rahul Gandhi hit back at PM Modi, saying he was neither talking about the BJP nor the ruling party, nor the RSS and that Modi does not represent the entire Hindu society.
