Yoga girl Archana Makwana: Archana Makwana, a resident of Vadra who practices yoga at Sri Harmandir Sahib, did not join the police investigation yesterday. The police will now send her a second notice regarding this matter. On the complaint of the Shiromani Committee, the police station and division police have registered a case against Archana Makwana under section 295A of the IPC.
SHO Harsandeep Singh said that in this case, Archana was issued a notice to appear by June 30 under Section 41A of the CrPC, but she did not appear. He said that so far neither she nor any of her legal representatives have contacted the police.
What does the law say?
He said that as per the rules, three notices are sent to the person named in the FIR to participate in the investigation. The first notice was sent to her to join the investigation but she did not comply. The police will send her two more notices, if she does not accept all three notices then arrest proceedings will be initiated.
Earlier, Archana Makwanan had warned the Shiromani Committee through one of her videos that if the Sikh organization did not withdraw the case filed against her, she would take legal action against the Shiromani Committee in the court.
This incident happened on 21st June, International Yoga Day, when Archana Makwana, a resident of Vadodara, Gujarat, performed yoga asanas in the parikrama of Sri Harimandir Sahib.
