Janta Darbar welcomed, appealed for such hearing for displaced community also

Jammu, July 1 (HS). Former MLC and JK UT BJP spokesperson Girdhari Lal Raina has welcomed the release of new roster for administrative secretaries to hold Janta Darbars in various districts during the month of July. The government notification has provided a schedule of administrative secretaries of various departments, detailing the date and venue where they will hold Janta Darbars.

Raina said that this is a welcome step towards responsible administration. The former MLC said that this step will definitely act as a much needed communication bridge between the people and the administration. Common people can bring their problems to the notice of the administrative heads. However, he stressed on increasing the frequency of such public darbars. He believes that every district has a large area and a huge population, whose hearing cannot be done at one place in a day.

The former MLC also demanded holding of such public darbars in “migrant camps” for the displaced community. He said these communities are facing a double whammy as they do not belong to any district. They are living within the territorial limits of a district in Jammu region but are facing problems related to their parent district in Kashmir Valley. He said in such a situation a separate darbar by any administrative secretary would help them raise issues of their concern in an inclusive manner.
