Importance given to justice and protection of constitutional rights of citizens in the new legal system: Collector Dubey

Raisen, July 1 (HS). Collector Arvind Dubey gave guidelines to the officers while reviewing in detail the preparations of government letters with deadlines, CM helpline, massive plantation campaign in the TL meeting held on Monday. At the beginning of the meeting, he said that the Indian Penal Code 1860, Code of Criminal Procedure 1975 and Indian Evidence Act 1872 have now come into force in a new form from July 1, 2024. In which importance has been given to justice and protection of the rights given to citizens in the Constitution. It is important for all officers to be aware of the new law and order and sections.

While reviewing the preparations being made for the massive plantation campaign in the district during the rainy season, Collector Dubey directed that more than 20 lakh saplings are to be planted in the entire district, all departments should ensure their participation in this. Plantation should be done in the premises of government buildings, on the banks of rivers and ponds, vacant government land in gram panchayats, etc. Farmers should also be encouraged to plant saplings in their fields.

While reviewing the pending complaints in CM Helpline department wise, he directed the district officers to ensure satisfactory redressal on priority. In the meeting, the Collector sought information from the Deputy Director Agriculture about the status of sowing of Kharif crops, availability of fertilizers and distribution to farmers.

Information given to officials about new forms of laws

In the meeting, Superintendent of Police Vikas Shahwal informed the district officials about the new form of various laws and sections and said that many laws have been implemented in the country in a new form from July 1. He said that such old bills and acts include the Indian Penal Code 1860, Code of Criminal Procedure (1898), 1973 and Indian Evidence Act 1872.

The Indian Penal Code 1860 has been replaced by the Indian Justice Code Bill 2023. The Code of Criminal Procedure 1898 has been replaced by the Indian Civil Protection Code Bill 2023. Similarly the Indian Evidence Act 1872 has been replaced by the Indian Evidence Bill 2023.

Superintendent of Police Shahwal said that in the new form of law, importance has been given to increasing the importance of justice instead of punishment and to protecting the rights given to Indian citizens in the constitution. He said that programs are being organized in all the police stations of the district to give information about the new laws to the citizens. To provide information about the new form of various laws and sections, a mobile app called ACRB Compilation of Criminal Law has been created, which can be downloaded from Google Play Store.
