Jammu, July 1 (HS). Dr Syed Darakhshan Andrabi, Chairperson, Jammu and Kashmir Waqf Board (MoS) on Monday visited Royal Gund in Ganderbal and paid obeisance at the Sufi shrine of Syed Jafar (RA). The Jammu and Kashmir Waqf Board took over the administrative and management control of the shrine after completing all legal formalities on public demand. Dr Andrabi attended a public reception as the chief guest and later addressed a gathering of locals.
Dr Andrabi said that this dargah located in Royal Gund will soon be provided with advanced facilities for the devotees. Dr Darkhshan said, our development plans take shape at the grassroots level and the works are executed within the stipulated time frame. We ensure that the works are carried out in a completely transparent manner as per the requirements at the site. He said that during the last two years, our spiritual centres have got a boost across the UT and Sufi dargahs have again come into the public eye after a long period of darkness in Jammu and Kashmir. Dr Darkhshan said, our spiritual saints are the everlasting torch bearers of our heritage and we need to follow their teachings to enrich our lives with spiritual upliftment.
