Monsoon alert..! Clouds will flourish in these states..! What did the weather department predict?

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted heavy rains in northwest and northeast India for the next 4 to 5 days. The weather department said on Saturday that a low pressure area is currently located over northwest Bay of Bengal off north Odisha-West Bengal coast. Meanwhile, after Delhi, a portion of the roof collapsed at Rajkot Hirasar International Airport during heavy rains in Gujarat.

The Meteorological Department has said that a cyclonic circulation persists at the lower tropospheric level over eastern, northeastern Rajasthan, Bihar, east, northwest Uttar Pradesh. A low pressure area system persists over the northwestern part of Uttar Pradesh. The Meteorological Department said that due to these weather systems, heavy rains are likely in isolated parts of Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan from June 29 to July 3. Heavy rains are likely in Chhattisgarh, Gangetic West Bengal, Jharkhand and Odisha on June 30 and in Bihar from June 30 to July 2.

Heavy rain likely in states

The weather department has also predicted heavy rains in isolated areas of Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Uttar Pradesh, East Rajasthan and West Madhya Pradesh during this period. Due to a cyclonic circulation over the northeastern part of Assam in the northeast, light to moderate rain, thundershowers, lightning and some thundershowers will occur over West Bengal, Sikkim, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura during the next 5 days. This will lead to heavy to very heavy rains at some places.

What is the status of monsoon?

Heavy rain is likely at some places over Arunachal Pradesh on June 30 and over Assam and Meghalaya on June 29. The weather department also said that the southwest monsoon has further advanced into the remaining parts of East Uttar Pradesh and some parts of West Uttar Pradesh on Saturday. The IMD said that conditions are favourable for further advance of monsoon into West Rajasthan, Haryana, Chandigarh, most parts of Punjab and rest of West Uttar Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh and Jammu during the next two-three days.
