A case of fraud of Rs 9 lakh in the name of work visa has come to light in Gharaunda, Karnal, Haryana. Also, the police of Gharaunda police station has registered a case on the basis of the complaint and started investigating the matter.

Rajesh and his daughter Kanika, residents of Naseeb Vihar Colony, have alleged that Joginder and Rajat Gavaskar have defrauded them of Rs 9 lakh in the name of getting a work visa. According to the complainant, Joginder and Rajat contacted him in May 2023 and claimed to send him abroad. Kanika traveled to the UK on 10 February 2022 on a student visa, which was valid till 6 August 2023. Joginder assured Kanika of getting a work visa. On this, Kanika transferred Rs 5 lakh to Joginder's account. After this, Rs 2.5 lakh each was transferred on July 4 and July 6. It is alleged that despite taking Rs 5 lakh, Joginder and Rajat did not give Kanika a work visa. Kanika's student visa expired on August 4 and she returned to India. Despite repeated requests, Joginder and Rajat started making excuses and asked for Rs 4 lakh more. He threatened that if the money was not given, even the Rs 5 lakh given earlier would not be returned.

By creating pressure, Rs 2 lakh was transferred to Joginder's account on 9th August and Rs 23 lakh on 23rd August. august 2 lakh rupees were deposited. Even after this, no concrete answer was received. After the panchayat in November 2023, the accused gave a check of Rs 9.30 lakh on November 10, which was not cleared due to wrong signature. On calling, the accused threatened not to give the money and threatened to kill if asked again. The victims allege that a fraud of Rs 9 lakh has been done in the name of work visa. The police have registered a case on the complaint.
