Road Accident on Mumbai Nagpur Expressway: Six people were killed and four injured in a collision between two cars near Kadwanchi village on the Samruddhi Highway in Jalna district on the Mumbai Nagpur Expressway. During the accident, a Swift car entered the wrong side after filling petrol and collided with an oncoming Ertiga. The accident took place around 11 pm.
The collision between the two vehicles was so severe that the Ertiga flew into the air and fell on the barricade on the highway and the people sitting in it were thrown out of the car and fell on the road. The other car was called booked. Six people died on the spot and their bodies were found lying on the highway.
As soon as the information about the accident was received, Samruddhi Highway Police and Jalna Police reached the spot. A crane was used to move the car to the side of the road. The injured have been sent to the district hospital for treatment. This expressway is a partially operational 6-lane and 701 km long access-controlled expressway in Maharashtra.
