Driving licenses returned due to wrong address will now be available through transport offices

Raipur, June 28 (HS). On the special initiative of Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai, another new facility is being provided to the common citizens by the Transport Department.

Driving licenses and registration certificates which do not reach the applicant's address will now be distributed to the respective applicants through the regional, additional regional and district transport offices of their districts. This system is being implemented from July 1 for the convenience of the common citizens.

It came to the notice of Chief Minister Sai that many driving licenses and registration certificates sent by the Transport Department through post were returned to Indravati Bhawan, the headquarters of the Transport Department in Naya Raipur, due to incorrect address. Such applicants had to come to Naya Raipur to get their driving licenses and registration certificates. Realizing the difficulties of the applicants, the Chief Minister directed the officials of the Transport Department that the driving licenses and registration certificates that were not received due to any reason should be distributed through the regional, additional regional, district transport offices of the concerned district.

Transport department officials said that those returning to the Transport Headquarters in Nava Raipur due to unclear or incomplete address will not need to come to Nava Raipur to get their driving license and registration certificate. Applicants will be able to get their driving license or registration certificate by submitting valid documents from the concerned office. In this regard, guidelines have been issued by the Transport Department to all subordinate offices.
