In the meeting, the Director General of Police emphasized on maintaining high level discipline and strong police functioning.
Director General of Police Abhinav Kumar, referring to the viral audio regarding the victim woman in Pantnagar police station, said that such cases are not in line with the image of the police department. Disciplinary action should be taken against such personnel. The Director General of Police directed to ensure quick and effective action against crimes against women and the weaker sections. He said that negligence at any level will not be tolerated, strict action will be taken. The main objective of the police department is to provide security to the citizens and protect their rights. For this, all police officers need to work with high level discipline and sensitivity towards the victim.
He appealed to the officers to discharge their duties with honesty and integrity. He also instructed that if officers have different opinions in any matter, then the matter should be brought to the notice of higher officials after taking legal opinion with fairness and transparency and a just settlement should be made. All officers should be responsible towards the public by establishing mutual coordination and solve public problems quickly.
The Director General of Police discussed various topics to make the departmental functioning more robust and disciplined. He instructed all the officers to work with dedication and discipline to improve the image and efficiency of the police.
