Chief Minister met the Union Communications Minister, discussed the expansion of communication services in the state

Dehradun, June 28 (HS). Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami met Union Communications Minister Jyotiraditya M. Scindia in New Delhi on Friday and congratulated him on getting the responsibility of the Communications Ministry. During this, various topics related to the expansion of communication services in the state were discussed.

The Chief Minister also requested to provide communication facilities to those areas in the state which are deprived of communication system by installing towers and to expand the communication facilities in the villages of the border area of ​​Pithoragarh along with operating the tower installed by Reliance Jio Kik Kik in Gunji.

The Chief Minister apprised the Union Communications Minister that shifting the post office located at Tallital in Nainital has become necessary in public interest to solve the traffic problem of Nainital. Due to the increasing number of devotees and tourists in Nainital district every day and the increasing popularity of the world famous Baba Neem Karauli Maharaj's ashram 'Shri Kainchi Dham' day by day, the number of tourists in Nainital is increasing tremendously along with the devotees.

The Chief Minister expected the Union Communications Minister to shift the post office situated at the main intersection of Nainital city to another place in order to get rid of traffic jams in Nainital city and to strengthen the traffic system.

Land acquisition complete for 481 towers: The Chief Minister also informed the Union Communications Minister that under the 4G saturation scheme, Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) was to install 638 towers in Uttarakhand, out of which land acquisition was required for 481 towers. The Uttarakhand government has completed the land acquisition process, but BSNL has installed only 224 towers so far. In this regard, the Chief Minister requested the Union Communications Minister to direct BSNL for immediate action. The Union Communications Minister has assured the Chief Minister of taking necessary action on the mentioned issues.
