While rain has brought relief to Delhi-NCR, the tension of VIPs has increased due to waterlogging on roads and in houses. Water accumulated outside the bungalows of MPs and ministers in Lutyens Delhi. In many places, there was a power outage throughout the night and people had to spend the whole night in darkness.
The bungalows and surrounding areas are flooded with rainwater
When the leaders came out of their houses in the morning to attend the Parliament session, they were seen struggling with the situation. Rainwater accumulated in and around the bungalows of Delhi's Water Minister Atishi, SP MP Ram Gopal Yadav, Protem Speaker Bhartruhari Mahtab, Congress MP Tariq Anwar and NITI Aayog member Vinod Kumar Paul.
Lutyens Delhi is considered a VVIP area. Here, the elections of New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) have opened due to waterlogging in the houses after the rain. Only NDMC maintains this area. Pre-monsoon operations are carried out before the rain. By looking at the condition of VVIP houses after the rain, one can guess what will be the condition of the houses of common people. There is no drainage system in many areas of Delhi.
