If you want to easily change your photo on Aadhaar, then you can follow these steps.

Your important data in Aadhaar card

Aadhaar card contains biometric and demographic data of the cardholder. Through this, the identity of the person using the Aadhaar card is verified immediately. UIDAI, the organization that issues it, has provided some facility for changes in it. One of these is updating the photo. Apart from this, everything from home address to phone number can also be changed.

Go to the Aadhaar center and do this work

If we talk only about changing the photo, then you cannot do this work sitting at home, because the service of photo update is not available online. However, you can download the form by logging in to the official website of UIDAI (uidai.gov.in) and after filling it, you can submit it by visiting the nearest Aadhaar Seva Kendra. This will reduce the time taken to fill the form at the center. Open the website on your mobile or laptop. After this, go to the My Aadhaar option. Here you have to go to the download section and click on Aadhaar Enrollment / Update Form.

After filling all the required information in the form, go to your nearest Aadhaar enrolment centre and submit it. The Aadhaar executive will verify all your information through biometric verification. Then your new photo will be clicked, which will be updated in the Aadhaar card.

This service of Aadhaar is not free

This service of updating the photo in the Aadhaar card is not free, but for this work you will have to pay a fee of Rs 100 and GST will be applicable on it. After updating the photo, the Aadhaar executive will give you a slip and a Unique Request Number (URN). Through this, you can track the latest status of Aadhaar from the official website. After the process is completed, you can go to the nearest Aadhaar Seva Kendra and get your Aadhaar card printed. You can also download the e-Aadhaar copy of the updated Aadhaar from the official website of UIDAI.

How to download updated e-Aadhaar

  • Go to www.uidai.gov.in and click on Download Aadhaar.
  • Enter Aadhaar number or Enrolment ID or Virtual ID on the new page.
  • Submit the captcha code and click on send OTP option.
  • A One Time Password (OTP) will be sent to your registered mobile number.
  • Enter this OTP, Verify and click on Download.
  • In this way your e-Aadhaar with updated photo will be downloaded
