WHO's shocking report

Un-Healthy India: The World Health Organization (WHO) has made a shocking revelation about Indians. According to a report, almost half of the Indians have become so lazy that they do not even do the physical work required for daily routine. Due to which they can become victims of serious diseases by 2030.

Laziness is the main cause of chronic diseases

According to WHO, everyone should do at least 150 minutes of physical activity a week to stay healthy. But half of the people are lazy about it, due to which they are inviting chronic diseases. If people do not change this habit, then it can have bad consequences in the future.

60 percent of people's health may be affected

According to a report, about 57 percent of women in India are very less physically active. Whereas 42 percent of men do very little physical labour. In the year 2000, this figure was 22.3 percent which has increased to 49.4 percent. According to the World Health Organization, if Indians do not give up laziness, then by 2030, the health of about 60 percent of Indians can be affected.

197 countries of the world were studied

Researchers have studied the physical activity of 5.7 million people in 197 countries across the world. An international team of researchers, including WHO experts, analysed population-based studies from the year 2000 to 2022. India's data was sent by the Madras-based Diabetes Research Institute. South Asia ranks second in terms of ill effects on health due to not being physically active. The Asia-Pacific region has performed the worst.

One third of the world's population is unfit

According to the report, 31.3% or about one-third of people around the world are unfit due to lack of physical activity. According to the researchers, the number of adults who are not physically active globally was 26.4% in 2010, which increased by 5% in 2022. In addition, the rate of physical inactivity is increasing globally among both men and women aged 60 years and above.

At least 150 minutes of exercise per week is necessary

According to health experts, everyone should do at least 150 minutes of physical activity a week. Apart from this, it is not necessary to go to the gym, you can also walk or jog. Apart from this, you can also do exercises like cycling, swimming, running. However, despite having access to many facilities, we cannot do this. Due to which we unknowingly invite many diseases. Which sometimes also becomes the cause of mental illnesses.

Exercise is essential to reduce the risk of chronic diseases

If you sit all day without physical labor or any kind of exercise, the energy obtained from food will be stored in the form of fat. This will lead to obesity and due to that the body automatically becomes a home to many diseases. Being physically inactive will also increase cholesterol which will start accumulating in the blood vessels and cause heart diseases. Therefore it can be said that a little exercise can reduce the risk of chronic diseases like blood pressure and heart disease.
