Pre-monsoon rain has started in Delhi which is continuing continuously. Heavy rain occurred for a few hours last night. Due to this, many areas of Delhi-NCR were flooded with 2 to 4 feet of water. The roof of Terminal-1 of Delhi's Indira Gandhi International Airport collapsed. Many taxis and cars came under its grip. 6 people sitting in them were injured.
Delhi Fire Service officials said that the incident took place at 5 am. A search operation is being carried out to rescue people trapped in vehicles. Apart from the roof sheet of Terminal-1, the support beam has also collapsed. This has damaged vehicles parked in the pickup and drop area of the terminal.
Flights departing from Terminal 1 of Delhi Airport have been suspended after the roof collapsed. The airport official said that the check-in counters at Terminal 1 have been closed. Many passengers who reached Terminal 1 of Delhi Airport are upset due to the cancellation of flights.
