Amarnath Yatra 2024: Amarnath Yatra is going to start tomorrow from 29th June, for which registration has started. Every year lakhs of devotees come on the holy Amarnath Yatra. In the coming days, thousands of devotees from Gujarat will also reach Amarnath for Baba's darshan. It is mandatory for devotees to get a fitness certificate before leaving for Amarnath Yatra. Often there are reports that during the Amarnath Yatra, the health of devotees deteriorated or someone died. If you are going for Amarnath darshan and want to avoid such a situation, then follow the doctor's advice and then go for Amarnath Yatra.

Amarnath Yatra is a difficult journey. People have to walk for many kilometers. Many times, people who are not used to walking also go on pilgrimage. Such journeys become dangerous for such devotees. More than 900 fitness certificates have been issued from Ahmedabad Civil Hospital for this journey. Doctors have given special advice for such pilgrims. Civil Hospital Superintendent Dr. Rakesh Joshi has given necessary advice to the devotees.

  • Devotees need to be physically prepared before going on Amarnath Yatra.
  • They should practice walking months before the trip.
  • One should walk an average of 3 to 4 kilometres every day.
  • Practice Pranayama and deep breathing regularly every day. Because, many devotees suffer from hyporhythmia at high altitude. They start shivering. Also, they have difficulty in breathing.
  • To avoid such a situation, eat nutritious food and keep drinking water continuously.
  • If you are going on Amarnath Yatra, wear warm clothes even while sleeping.

When does the Amarnath Yatra start?
This year the Amarnath Yatra will start from June 29. Registration for this 50-day yatra will start from 15 April i.e. Monday i.e. today. This yatra will end on 19 August 2024. The last time the yatra started was from 1 July. This time the yatra will last for 52 days. Registration for this has started from 15 April i.e. today.

How to register from mobile:
If you want to register through a mobile application, then you will have to download the Shri Amarnathji Yatra app. At the same time, offline registration can be done from Punjab National Bank, SBI, Yes Bank and Jammu and Kashmir Bank.

What are the proofs required for registration?
During the journey, carry medical certificate, 4 passport size photographs, Aadhar card, RFID card, travel application form.

Medical advice before going to Amarnath:
In terms of physical fitness, practice walking 4 to 5 kilometers daily. Do breathing yoga like pranayama and exercises. Carry woolen clothes, raincoat, trekking stick, water bottle and necessary medicine bag with you during the journey.

By which route can Amarnath be reached?
There are mainly two routes to reach Baba's court, one is Pahalgam route. While the other route is Baltal route. Know which route will be better. Information about which route will be more comfortable for tourists is also available here.

Pahalgam Route:
It takes 3 days to reach the cave through this route, but this route is easy. There is no steep climb in the journey. The first stop from Pahalgam is Chandanwadi. It is 16 km from the base camp. The climb starts from here. After a climb of three kilometers, the trek reaches Pissu Top. From here the trek reaches Sheshnag in the evening. The journey is about 9 km. The next day the travelers go from Sheshnag to Panchtarni. It is about 14 km from Sheshnag. This cave is just 6 km from Panchtarni.

Baltal Route:
If you are short on time, you can go to Baba Amarnath via the Baltal route. It involves climbing only 14 km, but it is quite steep, so the elderly face difficulty on this route. This route has narrow paths and dangerous turns.

How many devotees come to see Baba?
Last time around 4.50 lakh pilgrims had come. This time 6 lakh pilgrims are expected to come. The tour is of short duration and there will be more crowd, so more arrangements are being made. Arrangements for food, accommodation and health checkup will be made all along the way. Preparations are underway for two camp hospitals equipped with oxygen booths, ICU beds, X-ray, sonography machine and liquid oxygen plant.

Know how is the way to see Baba:
Earlier, the 46 km long road from Pahalgam to the cave was 3 to 4 feet wide and the Baltal road was 2 feet wide. Now it has been widened to 14 feet. According to the Border Roads Organisation, the 14 km road from Baltal to the cave has become 7 to 12 feet wide. It is a motorable road. Helicopter service is also available.
