Karachi: Severe heat has wreaked havoc in Pakistan. In Karachi city alone, more than 450 people have died due to heat in four days. An NGO of the country gave this information and said that hundreds of people have been admitted to hospitals due to heat. An organization named Edhi Foundation has said that at least 427 bodies have been found in the last 4 days while 23 bodies were found on Tuesday. Thus a total of 450 bodies have been found.
The heat wave has been continuing in Pakistan, which is called the economic capital of Pakistan, since Saturday. Till Wednesday, the mercury has remained above 40 degrees. In such a situation, the rising temperature is becoming worrisome. However, relief is expected in the coming days.
Faisal Edhi, chairman of Edhi Foundation, said that there are four graveyards in Karachi. But there is no place to keep the dead bodies. The sad thing is that power cuts have increased the troubles of the people in this scorching weather. A large number of homeless people, street dwellers and drug addicts are among those who died due to extreme heat.
Another reason for more deaths in this summer is that unemployment is rampant in the country. Therefore people also come out in the sun in search of employment. As a result they die due to heatstroke or sunstroke. On Tuesday, 135 bodies were brought to the hospital mortuary. On Monday, 128 bodies came.
In short, the entire country is suffering due to the continuing abnormal heat. The deaths in Karachi have broken all records.
