A migrant labourer from Madhya Pradesh earns his living by doing agricultural work in a farm near a private school on Amargarh Road. Prakashbhai Gelabhai Jamar had gone to Mendara on a motorcycle for some work late last evening. Prakashbhai's 3-year-old son Rohit used to play there. Suddenly a leopard picked Rohit up and took him to a nearby farm. The leopard ate Rohit's waist and lower abdomen. During this entire incident, Rohit was nowhere to be seen coming to Prakashbhai's farm. So Prakashbhai started looking for his son and after informing the people around, they also started looking for Rohit.
While searching for Rohit, people found blood stains about 200 meters away from his house and they immediately informed the forest department. When they reached the spot and investigated, Rohit's body was found. Leopards were seen around the place where Rohit's body was found and looking at the body, it was proved that Rohit was eaten by a leopard.
The forest department sent the body to Mendra Hospital for postmortem. Cages were set up last night to catch the panther immediately. Today too, the forest department has made efforts to catch the leopards by setting up cages at 5 different places. Terror has spread in the surrounding areas due to the man-eating leopards. There has been a demand that the forest department should immediately arrest the leopard.
