New Delhi, June 27 (HS). Union Finance and Corporate Affairs Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Thursday held pre-budget discussions with experts from the health and education sectors in New Delhi in view of preparations for the upcoming General Budget 2024-25.
The Finance Ministry said in a statement issued on 'X' post that in the ninth pre-budget consultation meeting for the General Budget 2024-25 chaired by Nirmala Sitharaman, discussions were held with experts from the health and education sectors. Experts from both these sectors gave their suggestions and views to the Finance Minister.
Union Minister of State for Finance, Pankaj Chaudhary, attended the Pre-Budget Consultation Meeting along with Finance Secretary and Secretary, Department of Expenditure, Secretary, Department of Economic Affairs, Secretary, Department of Revenue, senior officials from Department of Higher Education, Department of School Education and Literacy and Ministry of Health and Family Welfare and Chief Economic Adviser to the Government of India.
It is noteworthy that Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman had presented the interim budget for the current financial year 2024-25 before the general elections. After the elections, she has again been given the responsibility of the Finance Ministry in the NDA government. She has now started preparing for the full budget before presenting it.
