Pilgrims returning from the Char Dham Yatra are suffering from cold, cough, fever and lung infections. After the Corona pandemic, there has been an increase of about 35 percent in the cases, the reason behind which is that people's lungs have been directly affected during Corona.
Along with this, during the Chardham Yatra, difficulty in breathing in the high altitude area, rain, crowd of people, flying particles while walking horses and mules are also responsible, not only this, the risk of infection also increases when heat is felt, the weather is getting worse while returning to Gujarat.
Dr. Tushar Patel, President of Ahmedabad Medical Association, said, cases of lung infection have increased after Covid. Cases of lung infection are being reported among people who have returned from Chardham Yatra. At present, one or two such cases are reported in OPD every two days, cases of lung infection have increased after Covid. Doctors say that pilgrims go from May to September and among those who return, patients from young to old come for treatment. People should go on the Yatra after making proper reports. Special precautions need to be taken in case of heart disease or other serious illness. Due to difficulty in breathing at high altitude, the lungs are not able to function properly, which also increases the risk of stroke. Smoking, diseases that weaken the immune system, old age are also considered responsible for lung infection.
What to do to avoid lung infection?
To prevent lung infection, one should follow a healthy diet. Quit smoking, drink clean water, stay stress free, get enough sleep, do regular light exercise, try to avoid pollution and maintain good hygiene. Lung infection is caused by bacteria, virus or fungus. When viral or bacterial spreads, it takes the form of infection. The main types of lung infection are pneumonia, flu, TB, bronchitis.
