MPs' 'agwi style' during oath taking, Jai Shri Ram, Jai Bhim, Jai Constitution

New Delhi: On the second day of the first session of the 18th Lok Sabha in the country, about 280 MPs including Congress leaders Rahul Gandhi and Akhilesh Yadav took oath in a grand manner. Rahul Gandhi and Akhilesh Yadav took oath with a copy of the Constitution, while other MPs raised slogans ranging from Jai Shri Ram to Jai Samvidhan while taking oath. However, seven MPs are yet to take oath.

Congress leader and MP from Rae Bareli Rahul Gandhi took oath in Parliament today with a copy of the Constitution in his hand. Before taking the oath, he showed the copy of the Constitution to everyone in the House. After taking the oath, Rahul stood behind Protsahan Speaker Bhratruhari Mahtab and shook hands with the Marshall. After taking the oath, Rahul Gandhi raised the slogan Jai Hind, Jai Samvidhaan.

Like Rahul Gandhi, Samajwadi Party president Akhilesh Yadav also took oath with a copy of the Constitution in his hand. Since most of the MPs who took oath on Tuesday were from the Bharat Alliance, they raised slogans of Jai Hind, Jai Samvidhaan after taking oath. MPs from Maharashtra raised slogans of Jai Hind, Jai Samvidhaan, Jai Maharashtra.

After AIMIM MP Asaduddin Owaisi took oath, there was a controversy due to slogans of Jai Bhim, Jai Mim, Jai Palestine. When BJP MPs were raising slogans, Protem Speaker Mahtab clarified that only the works approved according to the Constitution will be recorded. Similarly, after BJP MP Atul Garg took oath, Congress MPs protested by saying Jai Modi and they raised slogans of Jai Hedgewarji. At the same time, after MP Arun Govil took oath from Meerut seat, SP MPs raised slogans of Jai Shri Ram and Jai Awadhesh.

After taking oath, Trinamool MPs raised slogans of Jai Bangla, Jai Mamata Banerjee and Jai Abhishek Banerjee. While the MPs from Odisha raised slogans of Jai Jagannath after taking oath. MP Rajkumar Roat from Banswara, Rajasthan came wearing tribal attire. In the two days of the first session of the 18th Lok Sabha, 535 out of 542 MPs have taken oath. However, seven MPs including five from India Alliance have not been able to take oath yet.
