New Delhi, June 25 (HS). The Lok Sabha proceedings were adjourned till 11 am on Wednesday after the newly elected members took oath on Tuesday evening. Since yesterday, state-wise members took oath. After the oath, the proceedings were adjourned till tomorrow by the Protem Speaker.
The Lok Sabha will elect a new Speaker on Wednesday. Before the election, nominations have been filed by both the ruling party and the opposition. Om Birla filed nomination from the ruling party and K. Suresh from the opposition. Meanwhile, political parties have started issuing whips to their party members.
After the election of the Speaker in the Lok Sabha on Wednesday, the President will address the joint sitting of both the Houses on Thursday. After this, the President's address will be discussed in both the Houses from Friday.
