Ranchi, June 25 (HS). Chief Minister Champai Soren has directed the officials to fix the criteria for selection of beneficiaries of the state government's LPG subsidy scheme as soon as possible. The Chief Minister was conducting a high-level review meeting of the schemes run by the Food, Public Distribution and Consumer Affairs Department on Tuesday. He said that this is a very important scheme of the state government, which aims to provide gas cylinders to poor and deprived families at affordable rates so that they can use it regularly.

Start the process of issuing new green ration card

The Chief Minister said that initiatives should be taken to increase the scope of Jharkhand State Food Security Scheme. Under this, the target set for issuing green ration cards should be increased. Quick steps should be taken to connect new beneficiaries to this scheme. The Chief Minister said that Chief Minister Support Scheme was started for subsidy on purchase of petrol for two-wheelers but better results of this scheme have not been seen. In such a situation, maximum beneficiaries should come forward to take advantage of this scheme, there is a need to bring changes in its guidelines and format. The Chief Minister directed the officials to simplify the guidelines of this scheme so that this scheme proves to be meaningful.

Strengthen Daal Bhaat Centers

The Chief Minister said that many Daal Bhaat centres are being run in cities and rural areas to provide one-time meal to the poor for just five rupees. He stressed the need to strengthen these Daal Bhaat centres and said that proper steps should be taken to keep them clean and beautiful. The state government is making efforts to ensure that as many poor people as possible can have food in these centres.

Make packets of dhoti, lungi and sari and give it to the beneficiaries

The Chief Minister said that the quality of dhoti, lungi and saree given under Sona-Sobran dhoti-saree distribution scheme should be good. He asked the officials to provide dhoti, lungi and saree to the beneficiaries in packets.

Khiangte, Additional Chief Secretary to Chief Minister Avinash Kumar, Secretary to Chief Minister Arwa Rajkamal, Secretary Food Public Distribution and Consumer Affairs Department Amitabh Kaushal, OSD Satish Chandra Chaudhary, Joint Secretary Deepak Kumar, Managing Director JSFC Satyendra Kumar, Director Food Consumer Affairs Dilip Tirkey and Controller Legal Metrology Krishna Chandra Chaudhary were present in the meeting.
