Another blow of inflation, milk prices increased in this state

After the increase in the prices of petrol and diesel, milk has also become expensive in Karnataka. After this increase, the burden on the pockets of the common people is expected to increase. Days after the fuel price hike in Karnataka, the Karnataka Milk Federation on Tuesday announced a hike in milk prices. The new milk prices will come into effect from Wednesday. According to the information, the price of Nandini milk will increase by Rs 2 per pack from Wednesday. However, consumers will now get 50 ml extra milk as 500 ml milk packets will be replaced by 550 ml packets and 1 liter packets will be replaced by 1.05 liter packets. Milk prices in Karnataka were last increased in July 2023.

How much will the new prices be?

500 ml toned milk was priced at Rs 22 and 1000 ml packet was priced at Rs 42, now 550 ml and 1050 ml will be priced at Rs 24 and Rs 44 respectively. Similarly, Shubham's 500 ml milk packet was priced at Rs 23, now 550 ml packet will be priced at Rs 25. Similarly, 1050 ml milk will be priced at Rs 50, while earlier 1000 ml milk was priced at Rs 48. This increase will affect all Nandini packets.

Amul and Mother Dairy have increased prices from June 3

These include toned milk, double toned milk, homogenised toned milk, homogenised cow milk, special milk, Shubham milk, Samriddhi milk, homogenised Shubham milk, Santosh milk and Shubham Gold milk. Elsewhere, Amul and Mother Dairy hiked their milk prices by Rs 2 per litre from June 3. The main reason for the increase in milk prices is the rise in production cost, which has been rising for more than a year now.

Petrol and diesel prices increased

The Karnataka government has recently increased the prices of petrol and diesel. The sales tax on petrol has increased from 25.92 percent to 29.84 percent, which is an increase of Rs 3. For diesel, it has increased from 14.34 percent to 18.44 percent, which is an increase of Rs 3.02. After which the price of petrol in Karnataka's capital Bengaluru has become Rs 102.86 and the price of diesel has become Rs 88.94 per liter.
