Fearing China's threat, Pakistan deployed army to protect CPEC

Islamabad: Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif has decided to launch a military operation named Azam-e-Istehkam (Commitment to Stability), its aim is to end the growing radicalism and terrorism in the country. Pakistan has taken this decision after threats from China and has also raised concerns over the China-Pakistan-Economic-Corridor (CPEC).

This campaign will be run in all the states including Pakistan, Baltistan and POK. Almost all opposition groups including former Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan's party have opposed this decision. They say that they did not take the Parliament into confidence before taking this decision.

It is well known that terrorists in Pakistan are constantly targeting Chinese interests. The terrorists have especially targeted the north-west and south-west regions including CPEC. In the month of March itself, terrorists had attacked China. Vehicles carrying them were targeted.

In the southwest, the Baloch Liberation Army tried to infiltrate the Gwadar Port Authority complex. This complex is being built by the Chinese. Suicide bombings are taking place. Many people have lost their lives in this. That is why China is enraged.

A Chinese official explained in detail the potential dangers in the CPEC corridor. In a joint Pakistan-China meeting, the official said that trust is more valuable than gold. Chinese investors have lost trust in Pakistan due to the security situation here.

Therefore, Shahbaz Sharif has now handed over the security of the China-Pakistan-Economic Corridor and the working places of Chinese engineers and their residential areas to the army.
