Water crisis in Delhi, Minister Atishi, who was on hunger strike, falls ill, admitted to hospital

Water Minister Atishi, who was on an indefinite hunger strike over water shortage in Delhi, suddenly fell ill at around 3 am. After this, she was admitted to the ICU of Lok Nayak Jayaprakash Narayan Hospital (LNJP). Her sugar level had dropped significantly. After this, she was admitted in a hurry. Water Minister Atishi has been on an indefinite hunger strike for the last four days and claims that Haryana is not giving Delhi's share of water. After Atishi Singh's health deteriorated, Aam Aadmi Party MPs Sanjay Singh, Saurabh Bhardwaj, Aam Aadmi Party MLAs Dalip Pandey and Gopal Rai also reached LNGPS Hospital to see her and meet the doctor.

The Aam Aadmi Party tweeted that his blood sugar level dropped to 43 at midnight and 36 at 3 am, following which doctors at LNJP hospital advised him to be admitted immediately. He has not eaten anything for the last five days and is on an indefinite hunger strike demanding Delhi's share of water from Haryana.

On the health of Delhi minister Atishi, LNJP Hospital's Medical Director Suresh Kumar has said that when Atishi was brought to the hospital, her blood sugar was low. Her sodium level was also low. She has been admitted to the emergency ICU. She is currently on IV fluids. Her essential parameters are still stable. Some blood tests have been done, the report is awaited.

Atishi had said on Monday that this is the fourth day of her indefinite fast. There is a huge shortage of water in Delhi. Haryana has reduced the water supply. My BP and sugar are going down. My weight is also decreasing. Atishi says that her fast will continue until Delhi gets water.
